Dedication Service Recording Available

Pastor Jack Hayford was our honored guest and offerred the Dedication Address for this special night. The building was packed, with all the extra chairs there were close to 550 people there.

If you missed it, we've got a rough cut audio file that you can listen to here on the web before the DVD production is finished.

History: In the latter 1950's, Victory Temple consecrated this land and built the church here on this property with hard work and un-numbered sacrifice on the part of the faithful members of the congregation.
In 2005, we completed a complete remodel of the sanctuary, with new wiring, walls, roof, rooms, everything except the four masonry brick walls, had to be replaced.

Before it was sheet-rocked over, there was writing placed on the walls; the key basic beliefs of the Foursquare church:

Jesus the Savior
Jesus the Healer
Jesus the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit
Jesus the Soon, Coming King

Before the beams were raised which support the building and the roof, families wrote scriptures on them.

We want to continue to honor the spirit-filled intent of those who founded the first church on this property as we grow and minister to the neighborhood, to southeast Fresno, and to everyone who is touched by SouthPoint and the people who attend here.

The dedication service was recorded with our not-quite-so-perfect technology; so please forgive the loudness of the recording. We're still sort of working the bugs out on the audio recording. We've edited out the three singing portions, even then, though, it is a fairly long file: 25 megs.

You'll want to save it to your computer rather than listen to it as it spools off the web site because of this size. Right click, select save as, rather than clicking normally on the link below.

Download the MP3 of the Dedication

Extra programs are still available in the Church Office, and stay tuned, we hope to have a nice DVD of the whole night soon. We know there are people who want to hear the service before the DVD would be available; even with the audio recording's problems.

We'll be recording them each week again, bear with us as we equalize the audio and work to get the little hums and stuff out, though.
You'll find the Sermon Archives link up in the top right column of our main home page listed under "Quick Links" as well as on the Resources Page.

Dedication and Open House

Together with the hosts of angels we praise our King for the wonders He has provided us.

The day has come!
Our church is having a grand opening, and all are invited. If you have
ever been to Southpoint Curch, if you are wondering what God is doing in
southeast Fresno, or if you are curious what all the construction is
about, join us! We've sent invitations out to everyone who has a current address on file with the church office and we'd be honored if you were able to come.
This event is open to the public, but no
child care will be provided that evening. Come so that you and
your family can celebrate God's faithfulness together with us.

You can RSVP right here online, that'll help us know how many people to plan food and seating for that evening.

We're so excited!

Christmas Service Moved to Christmas Eve

Our SouthPoint Christmas Celebration this year has been moved from the regular Sunday Worship Service to Christmas Eve evening, at 5pm.

Since Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year, we hope that this change blesses you and your family for a wonderful Christmas Morning celebration together.

Last week, Channel 47, the CBS affiliate in Fresno, interviewed Pastor Keith as the national and local stations must have had a slow news day.
If you missed the story, it's still on the 47 web site as of this writing, although I don't know how long they keep the videos online.

We hope you get a little giggle out of the slow news day story.

What's Church Got To Do With It?

Pastor Keith started a message in November about SouthPoint's purpose in Southeast Fresno and how you can personally take part in it. He shared our vision, our values, and the purpose of SouthPoint.

He will finish the rest of this message this Sunday and everyone who wishes can join the church. You'll find a membership form here on the website if you missed this Sunday and wish to become a member of the church.
New church members will be presented to the entire congregation the first Sunday in January.

SouthPoint vision statement for years has been "To find the lost and disciple the found." This year we complete that by adding "and send the called" to it.

Archives of Pastor Keith's membership class are online if you wish to listen to them.

Meeting In The New Building at 10 AM

The newly remodeled SouthPoint sanctuary is ready for services! Please note that we will no longer be holding two services in the Family Center. Instead, everyone will meet in the beautiful new building at 10 AM on Sunday mornings.

Historically the site of the original Victory Temple church from the 1950's, the corner of Tulare and Minnewawa has been dedicated to the work of the Lord in this community for half a century. And now we've a building that will last for the next half century, and beyond
Look around and see your old and new friends at SouthPoint next Sunday. It will be a thrill to be all together in the same building at the same time. No doubt you'll notice many new faces. And be sure to introduce yourself to those you've never met as you enjoy being with the entire SouthPoint family.

It will be a time of joy and expectation as we enter a new phase of growth and life for the church. Don't forget! Remember to be there at 10 AM. And expect to see the wonderful things that God will do!

Attention Southeast Fresno: Need a New Start?

"Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead . . ." (See Philippians 3:13-14)

Have you ever wished you could go back to a certain place in your life and start over? Maybe you'd go back many years to change life-altering decisions you made - or perhaps you wish you could amend something you said only yesterday?
Rather than continually going back to the past and the places in our lives where we hold pain and regret, the Bible encourages us to forget it! God promises, "Behold, I make all things new." (See Revelation 21:5) If you'd like a new start, you can do it with other people who choose a new life in Jesus.

Check out SouthPoint Church on the corner of Tulare Street and Minnewawa.
Among other things at SouthPoint, you'll soon be seeing a new sanctuary, a new choir, a new nursery, new seating along with lots of new people! Come and make new friends and be renewed!
October is Pastor Appreciation Month

The month of October has been designated as "Pastor Appreciation Month" in churches across America. And this is a special opportunity to let your pastors at SouthPoint know that you appreciate them.

One way you may do this is to follow the signs down the hall to the project room when you come to church on Sunday. Continuing during the first three weeks of October, in-between services or after the second service on Sunday, you'll find cards provided for you to sign - or you may bring your own (Although gifts are welcomed, they are not expected at SouthPoint.)
On Sunday morning, October 30th, your church family will honor SouthPoint pastors during the service. They are:

Keith Jizmejian - Senior Pastor
Steve Myers - Associate Pastor
Bob Howerton - Associate Pastor
Peggy Myers - Pastor to Women & Children
Renee Larson - Jr. & Sr. High School Pastor

Thank you for your participation in honoring our pastors!
