Pass It On, SouthPoint!

This Christmas season the lives of many families and individuals were touched by the unselfish giving of our SouthPoint members through the Food Pantry and Christmas Dinner Outreach. What a wonderful way to put into practice what Jesus asked us to do….Love God - Love Others!
Loreen Painter, Food Pantry Director for Pass It On, noted that twelve full dinners were given out for Christmas. Each family received a ham, potatoes (scalloped potatoes), green beans, rolls, and pie. All in all, over 75 people benefited from the meals.
One of the individuals helped by the Food Pantry was a lady who does not attend SountPoint Church. Her name is Yvonne and her husband died from the H191 virus three weeks before Christmas. Through one of Loreen’s co-workers, SouthPoint heard about Yvonne’s plight and food was taken to her home twice, during her time of need.
The Food Pantry is depleted after the holidays, so please continue to bring food and sundry items to church and let’s rebuild it so that we can continue to meet the needs of people within SouthPoint and other‘s that the Lord brings to us. You can simply drive up to the Food Pantry table as you arrive at church and drop off your contribution before you park your car. The fish and loaves really multiplied and lives were touched.
Another Yay God & Thank You Church, is regarding the 50 coats that were passed out during the Coat Drive, which was coordinated by Kaitlyn. Fifty people were blessed by coats and sweat shirts that were donated during the past month. Please keep in mind that we will be having other opportunities to share coats and sweatshirts in the future. Consider starting a “coat bag” in your garage or closet and save it for next year's outreach.
The next Pass It On Sunday is March 7 - watch for details about how you can get involved. There'll be something for everyone of every ability to do!
