The overwhelming support for our Turkeys of Love and food giveaway at Christmas let us hand out 157 turkeys on the Thursday before Christmas. One for every family who turned out for the monthly Pass It On Food Pantry day.
People donated more than just turkeys, there was a huge bin of fresh oranges, and staples for each of the families in a couple bags of food, too. Frozen turkeys started arriving before 6pm on the night before, until they were stacked up 153 high!
Well done, and thank you, SouthPoint, for making this important day of giving possible!
Thursday morning at the usual Pass It On Food Pantry time, 10am to noon, 157 families came, and what we thought were 153 turkeys from the night before became enough turkeys for everyone! KMPH News was there to do a couple interviews and cover the story. Don’t miss it:
